As most of you know, the main tool which we're using as a database monitoring platform is a product called SentryOne.
At the end of January, an official new version was released for it: version 20.0
We are especially excited about this new version because it arrives with a special new product called SentryOne Portal.
What does that mean?
It means that very soon we will be able to set up an online website which will be directly accessible to all of our customers, wherever they are, and allows them to view the performance analysis data collected from their servers, using an easy-to-use web interface.

As of right now, the main features which are missing from this product are the ability to watch Blocking SQL, and Deadlocks. However, the SentryOne Portal is still being developed, and these features are expected to be added, together with other features (hopefully very soon!). ATTENTION: These limitations are relevant only to the web portal! Our monitoring capabilities will NOT be compromised, and we'd still be able to monitor locks and deadlocks as normal. This information would simply not be visible in the new Portal yet.
The set date for the version upgrade is Sunday, March 1st. During this upgrade, most of our monitoring capabilities will be temporarily suspended, except the most basic ones (i.e. "SQL Server Unreachable" which tests your server's availability).
